Premium Add-On · $499 · TruDiagnostic TruAge
TruDiagnostic TruAge DNA methylation testing that estimates your biological age and pace of aging — a premium clinic-based longevity assessment interpreted alongside your metabolic, cardiovascular, and functional health data.
Your chronological age tells you how long you have been alive. It does not tell you how well your body is aging. Two people who are both 55 can have very different biological ages — one aging slowly with robust cellular health, another aging faster with early signs of metabolic and cardiovascular decline.
Epigenetic aging assessments use DNA methylation patterns — chemical modifications to your DNA that change over time — to estimate your biological age and the pace at which your body is aging. This is one of the most exciting frontiers in longevity medicine, and it is now available as an optional add-on to our comprehensive longevity testing.
At Summit Peak Wellness in Boulder, we use the TruDiagnostic TruAge test — one of the most validated and comprehensive DNA methylation aging panels available. We do not order epigenetic testing in isolation. We interpret the results alongside your VO₂ max, body composition, grip strength, lab markers, and lifestyle data — so the number is meaningful, not just interesting. If your biological age is higher than expected, we look at why. If it is lower, we look at what is working.
What It Measures
How It Works
We use the TruDiagnostic TruAge test, a premium DNA methylation panel analyzed by a CLIA-certified laboratory. A simple blood sample — collected in-office or via an at-home kit — is analyzed for methylation patterns at specific CpG sites. These markers change predictably with age, allowing the lab to estimate your biological age, pace of aging, and other longevity-related metrics.
What makes this assessment valuable is not the number itself — it is the interpretation. A biological age that is higher than your chronological age is not a diagnosis. It is a signal. We look at that signal in the context of your metabolic health, cardiovascular fitness, body composition, sleep, stress, and lifestyle to understand what may be driving accelerated aging and what to do about it.
Why It Matters
Epigenetic aging is influenced by factors you can change: sleep quality, stress management, physical activity, nutrition, alcohol intake, and environmental exposures. Research suggests that intentional lifestyle changes can slow the pace of aging — and some studies suggest it may even be partially reversible.
This is why we treat epigenetic testing as one data point within a larger picture. If your pace of aging is elevated, we do not just tell you to ‘live healthier.’ We identify the specific factors in your life that are most likely contributing, and we build a targeted plan to address them. Then we remeasure to see if the interventions are working.
Your Journey
Complete our standard longevity testing first: body composition, grip strength, cardiovascular fitness, blood pressure, and targeted labs. This gives us the validated health measures to interpret alongside your epigenetic results.
A simple blood sample is collected in-office or via a take-home TruAge kit. The sample is sent to TruDiagnostic’s CLIA-certified laboratory for DNA methylation analysis.
When results return (typically 3–4 weeks), we schedule a consultation to review your biological age, pace of aging, and what they mean in the context of your other health data.
Based on the full picture — epigenetic, metabolic, cardiovascular, and functional — we build a personalized plan to address the factors most likely driving your aging trajectory.
Pace of aging changes slowly. We typically recommend remeasuring every 9–12 months to assess whether your interventions are moving the needle.
What You Receive
Questions & Answers
No. Epigenetic aging assessment is an optional add-on. Our standard longevity testing — body composition, grip strength, VO₂ max, blood pressure, and targeted labs — provides extensive, validated data on how well you are aging. The epigenetic assessment adds a molecular-level perspective for those who want the deepest possible insight.
